Music Therapy

Music holds what words sometimes cannot.

I work with children, young people, adults and families across Bath and Wiltshire, using music as a way to connect, express and make sense of experience. I’ve completed my training on the MA Music Therapy at the University of the West of England, and I expect to register with the HCPC in autumn 2026. I’m always happy to talk openly about my registration status with anyone considering sessions with me.

Sessions are built around the relationship between us and the music we make together. You don’t need any musical experience. We might improvise on drums, guitar, piano or voice, listen together, or write songs. The music becomes a place where feelings can be expressed, explored and held, particularly when they’re hard to put into words.

Therapeutic songwriting is at the heart of my practice. I’ve been a songwriter for nearly twenty years, and I’ve seen how shaping an experience into a song can help someone understand it, own it and move through it.

How I work

  • Individual sessions, weekly, usually 45 to 60 minutes

  • Group sessions

  • Therapeutic songwriting and recording

I work in Corsham through The Rhythm Practice at the Pound Arts Centre. I hold an enhanced DBS check, professional liability insurance and safeguarding training.
